Learn to swim in a relaxed, fun and friendly environment. Build lifelong skills, confidence and a love of water!
6 months – 36 months, 30 minute class, 10 babies per class
MSAC’s Water Babies program allows parents to bond with their babies in a relaxed and enjoyable aquatic environment. Our Water Babies classes build water familiarisation and confidence through a mix of songs, activities and games. These classes are beneficial for both babies and adults, providing a forum where parents can explore relevant issues and learn to feel confident around the water with their children.
Learn to Swim
3 – 10 years, 30 minutes, 4-7 students per class
MSAC’s learn to swim program focuses on the development of swimming technique as well as the importance of water safety. Here the emphasis is on water confidence and gaining independence in an aquatic environment, with each level building on skills previously learned. By the end of the program children will be able to breathe correctly in the water, perform freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke and demonstrate survival skills around the water including survival swimming, identifying potential hazards and performing rescues.
6 – 12 years, 45-60 minutes, 8-15 students per class
MSAC’s Junior Squad concentrates on improving stroke technique and stamina in both the 25m and 50m pools. The lesson duration is increased by 15 minutes for our Dolphin and 30 minutes for our Whales, Sharks and Pre Comp levels. These levels are squad orientated and provide students with a competitive and sociable environment in which to hone their skills. Diving, tumble-turning and finishing techniques are also introduced and explored.
7 – 12 years, 60 minutes, 20 students per class
MSAC’s Competition Squad is the culmination of swim school and prepares students to join the MSAC Swim Club by encouraging them to build relationships with their coaches and familiarise themselves with squad etiquette. Squad members are encouraged to swim at least twice a week to build the endurance and fitness required for club swimming and racing.
30-45 minutes, 4-6 per class
MSAC offers 3 levels of adult classes – Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Emphasis in our Adult classes is on creating a relaxed and encouraging environment where adult swimmers can learn basic swim strokes while developing water confidence and safety skills. Intermediate and Advanced classes offer the opportunity to refine technique and build fitness.
Swimming with a Disability
(Access and Inclusion)
All ages, 30 minutes, 1-on-1
MSAC encourages everybody at every level of ability to become a Champion in Life. All of our Access and Inclusion instructors have undergone additional training to qualify them to teach students with disabilities.
Private swimming lessons offer students of all ages the opportunity to get personalised, one-on-one training to enhance their technique and results. The flexible nature of these lessons allows them to be tailored to suit the specific needs and learning style of each student, resulting in accelerated progress.
