Chairman of the Trust – Bruce Mildenhall

Bruce is a strategic communications consultant with long involvement in the community. He chairs three not-for-profit organisations, was a State MP for 14 years and municipal councillor for nine. He is a former Manager, Facilities Branch in the Department of Sport and Recreation and former Chairman of the State Swimming Centre. He is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

SSCT Chief Executive Officer – Simon Weatherill

Simon is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the State Sport Centres Trust, comprising of the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC), MSAC Institute of Training (MIT), Lakeside Stadium(LS) and State Netball Hockey Centre (SNHC). In addition to his extensive management experience, Simon has delivered major ‘greenfield site’ sporting facilities in Melbourne including the MSAC project, the SNHC project and the MSAC redevelopment; as well as the establishment of the MSAC Institute of Training

 

Carmel Ackerly

Carmel is a professional facilitator and consultant with qualifications in Accounting, Business and Education. She is a Certified Practising Accountant and has a Masters of Management with postgraduate qualifications in the area of adult education. Carmel is on the Driver Education Centre Australia (DECA) Board and after 10 years of operating her own training and management Consultancy has taken up the position of Director Client Solutions for the Australian Institute of Management, Victoria and Tasmania.

Andrew Fried

Andrew is a Director for IBM (Life Sciences). He works with companies to help them analyse information and shape strategies that will drive their success. Previously Mr Fried was a Partner with IBM Japan and a Director with Accenture. He has spent the majority of his career working in Europe, the US, Japan and China. He has a Masters of Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Gaye Hamilton

Gaye has science and education qualifications and has worked at an executive level in Education and Cultural/Tourism organisations. She currently sits on a range of Boards, including Western Bulldogs Football Club, Queen Victoria Women’s Centre Trust, Seaworks Foundation and Zoos Victoria. Her board work is combined with project and consultancy work in a range of related areas.

Nicole Livingstone (O.A.M)

Nicole was a member of the Australian Olympic Swimming team for 12 years, during which she competed at three Olympics and three Commonwealth Games. She is a triple Olympic medallist and six times gold medallist at the Commonwealth Games. Since retiring in 1996 Nicole has worked in all forms of sport media, including Channel Nine’s Wide World of Sports (1994 – 2008) and now working with Channel Ten; who are broadcast partner to Swimming Australia Limited. Nicole is also a current board member of Vic Health.

Brett Moore (from 1 September 2010)

Brett is currently General Manager Performance Alignment at NAB.  Brett’s professional experience includes executive roles in strategy, human resources and industrial relations in the banking, horse racing and oil and gas industries.  He also spent five years as Director of Athletics Victoria.  Brett holds qualifications in Bachelor of Arts; Graduate Diploma Human Resources and Industrial Relations and a Masters of Business Administration from Australian Graduate School of Management.  He was also previously a nationally ranked decathlete (4th Olympic Trials 2000) and Australian Bobsleigh Team member – 2000-2002 – World Cup, World Championships.
